The relationship we have with our dogs should be a co-operative partnership, based on mutual trust and good communication. Recognise that your dog is a different species with a very different perception of the world we inhabit. If you want your dog to fit into the human world successfully, see them for who they are, ensure their canine needs are fulfilled, learn their language and teach them what they need to know with kindness and compassion.
